Terminology
During the course of this unit I have learned many terms that I had no idea about before. Some of the term I learned are address bus, CRT, CMOS batteries, cache RAM, and dot pitch. Let me begin with the address bus, the address bus is the bus that transfers information of where the data should go. Once you input the data save it, the address bus tells he computer where the saved data should go. CRT is the technology used in old TVs and monitors. In this technology a luminescent bar moves up and down to produce the pictures. CMOS batteries are batteries that keep track of the time and use less power. These batteries are just the bigger version the batteries used in your watches. Cache RAM transfers data to the processor without any delays. This RAM is very quick and your data will be retrieved with in seconds. Dot pitch is the measurement of how sharp the display on a CRT monitor is. This way we can know and improve the graphics of the monitor. I learned many new things, but these 5 were the ones that blew my mind way the most. Below I have the list of terms I learned in unit 1. Over all I learned that the computer is a very advanced system that uses mini system in the devices to work. Without a single component need to work this system, the computer will simply not carry out the functions you want it to carry.
