Internet 101
This assignment helped me understand many things about what networking, how it works and what parts are needed to make networking work. Computer networking is two or more nodes that are connected using some type of physical medium exchanging information using a common networking protocol. In the assignment there were question about what networking really is. By answering these question I came to the definition of networking mentioned above. This assignment helped me understand how networking works. This is how networking works, first the networking device connects you to the internet using cables (copper cables, fiber cable etc). The way these devices communicate is by using a protocol. There are key parts that have to be included in the process in order for it to work properly. These products include router, DSL modem, a type of cable and networking devices. That was a quick summery of how networking works. More information is at the bottom.

An internet backbone is the fiber optic trunk lines, which help flow the data and make sure the internet works efficiently.
f. What’s the id number for every node on the internet called? And give an example of one.
IP number is the Internet protocol number and it is the language that the computer uses to communicate with other computers.
g. So what’s DNS and why was it created? Give an example of a domain name.
DNS is the Domain Name System and it was created to shorten text file because it was increasing in length and becoming more complicated to remember.
