What I learned about PC Maintenance
So far in this Unit 1 I have learned many things. On e those things is PC maintenance. What I learned is how important PC maintenance is. So let me start off with what PC maintenance is. PC maintenance is cleaning inside of your computer so it doesn't get viruses etc. Many of you probably don't know how to maintain the PC at you own home, luckily I can give you the tips I learned. First, use a good anti-virus program, this will protect your PC for viruses. Second, regularly update your PC by widow update. Third, install a personal firewall to protect your data. These are just the three of many that can help you maintain your PC. Below I also have things that I learned for PC maintenance.
PC Maintenance
PC maintenance can mean two things, one taking care of your computer, so it does't get viruses and other harmful unwanted computer pests and two cleaning and fixing the inside of your computer. Most of us these days take pretty good care of our computers. We make sure that our screens aren't scratched, out computer looks good, and we make sure our computer doesn't get dirty. But what we most lack is taking care of the computer inside. The inside of the computer is far more important then the outside. So we have to take care of the inside. Many people open their computer and don't properly handle the parts inside and they further the damage on their computer. When we open a computer, we have to make sure we don't damage any thing, because if we do, then our computer won't work as efficient as it used to. We have to remember that every little piece of our computer is what helps our computer perform the functions that we want it to perform. Since the computer system is a very delicate system, if we damage just a little piece or it breaks then the computer will not perform the tasks that we give it very well. This is why we have to make sure we handle the parts nice and gently.
Safety Tips
When opening your PC to replace or fix devices you must follow safety tips to avoid getting cut, or shocked. I have some tips you can use to avoid these things. One, always use wrist straps to avoid getting shock. Even if the computer is unplugged, it can still have static charge, so wearing a wrist strap will ground you an you won't get shocked. Two, never open a monitor or power supply. Monitors and power supply carry a greater charge so even if you are wearing a wrist strap, it still won't prevent you from getting shocked. Three, don't leave loose screws in the computer. This can cause a short circuit and damage your computer. Four, don't leave loose wires. If you do your computer might short circuit and catch on fire. If you follow these simple tips, you should be able to work on the inside of your computer and still be safe.
Give your computer the right treatment!!!!
